Terms

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-07. These Terms replace the 2026-05-18 Terms published at rootrecord.info.

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Root Record’s websites (including www.rootrecord.cloud and names that redirect here, such as rootrecord.info and rootrecord.online), accounts and billing, and Root Record software we make available for the platforms we support (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Who we are

“Root Record,” “RootRecord,” “we,” and “our” refer to Root Record Software Systems, which operates the Services. The public support address is agents@rootrecord.cloud. Seller name, mailing address, and Hawaii GET license are under Business and tax information.

What the Services include

Website. www.rootrecord.cloud is the public site. It describes products, services, solutions, security, and public status. Live numbers appear only when a public feed reports them. We may add, change, or retire pages and features.

Software. Public applications include Business Manager by RootRecord, Weather Manager, and Kilauea Alerts, including Android apps and any matching web apps we still operate. We also offer other Root Record software, including Account Hub, Token Manager, Root Goals, and Roots Idle Farmer, where those products are available. Where a product stores data only on your device, it stays there unless you move it or turn on a feature that sends it to our systems. Where a product uses a signed-in workspace, operational data is processed as described on the product and in the Privacy Policy.

Accounts, Discord, and Roots. Where account sign-in, billing, or community features are available, you may create an account and, if you choose, link Discord for verification and for community commands such as balance and send for Roots (usage-based credits on your account). Linking is optional and is covered by the Privacy Policy. Account entry on this site is at Account.

Custom work. Services and solutions are software we build for a customer. A written scope, quote, or statement of work controls that job where one exists. These Terms still apply to the websites, accounts, and Root Record software used to do the work, unless that writing says otherwise.

Feature lists and product behavior are described on the Products pages and in each app. The Services are provided as they are available and may change.

Eligibility and accounts

You must meet the minimum age shown at account sign-up, or the age required in your region to consent to these Terms, if higher. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you notify us of unauthorized use. You may not share account access in a way that circumvents plan limits or licensing.

Acceptable use

You will use the Services only in compliance with applicable law. You will not probe, scan, or attack our systems; attempt unauthorized access to other users’ data; overload or disrupt the Services; reverse engineer our software except where applicable law expressly allows; or use the Services to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content. A public page cannot start, stop, or change a field system. We may suspend or terminate access for violations or for operational or legal reasons.

Plans, billing, and subscriptions

Online account features may be offered on Free, Monthly, and Lifetime plans. Current prices and benefits are shown at checkout and, where available, in the account or billing screens. Paid plans are charged through our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.

Our software may show read-only, limited, or locked states when your plan or sign-in status does not include a feature. Check the in-app message and your account screen.

Lifetime plan: ongoing access

If your account is on a Lifetime plan, the following applies for as long as Root Record Software Systems operates the Services under the Root Record brand (the “Service life”), subject to these Terms and to applicable law:

What Lifetime is not. This commitment covers Services offered by Root Record Software Systems under the Root Record brand. It does not cover products sold under another brand, by another seller, or unrelated third-party services. It is a commitment that what we ship under the Root Record Services for full paid access is included in your Lifetime entitlement. It is not a promise that we will build a specific feature we have not released.

Software license

We grant you a personal or internal-business, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the number of copies of our software permitted by your plan and fair use. You may not rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the software; remove notices; or merge it into a competing product. Updates may be supplied automatically or as separate downloads. Open-source components, if any, are governed by their own licenses.

Your content, backups, and compliance

You retain rights to data you enter. You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of your data, for securing your devices, and for keeping backups of databases and exports you care about. We are not responsible for loss of data on your devices if a device fails or an app is removed without a backup. For online data, export and deletion options are described in the Privacy Policy and, where offered, in the account screens. A request that does not delete the whole account uses data deletion.

Photo submissions and moderation

If the Services let you upload photos (for example volcano photography), you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, review, moderate, and display that content only after approval, as part of the Services. You represent that you have the rights to upload the photo and that it does not violate law or anyone else’s rights.

We may reject, remove, or restrict submissions at our discretion, including for safety, legal compliance, or quality. We do not guarantee publication, timing, or continued availability of user-submitted photos.

Data, privacy, and SI

The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It is part of your agreement with us.

Where you use online features, including dashboards, reports, or tools that call our servers, you grant us the rights reasonably needed to host, process, secure, and improve those features, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Where SI-assisted reporting or similar features are offered on online services, inputs and outputs may be stored and used to train and improve our own models, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use that data to train unrelated third-party commercial models for those companies’ own products.

Public status, field, energy, and geology pages show readings that are already public or that a public feed returns. They are not a private operations console.

No professional advice

The Services are tools for your own planning and operations. They are not legal, financial, tax, medical, engineering, or safety advice. Weather, earthquake, and volcano information is informational. Kilauea Alerts is an independent Root Record app. It is not produced or endorsed by the USGS, NOAA, the National Weather Service, or any government agency. You are responsible for decisions you make and for rules that apply to your business or location.

Third-party services and links

The Services may link to or rely on third parties, including payment processing, weather and geology sources, app stores, sign-in providers, and community platforms. Their terms and privacy policies apply to what they provide. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services you choose to use. Wallet and chain tools, where we offer them, ask your wallet to sign. Private keys stay in that wallet. A transaction broadcast to a public network can be public and irreversible. Network fees go to the network, not to Root Record. Those tools are not financial advice.

Affiliate links

Some links, for example to retailers such as Amazon, may be affiliate links. A click may pass through a redirect page. If you make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The Privacy Policy describes what we log. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

RootMC

RootMC at play.rootmc.net is a community Minecraft service operated by Root Record. Play, chat, and any governance features (proposals, bills, amendments, and votes) are part of the Services and also follow the rules published for that server. You need a linked Minecraft account, and a linked Discord account where verification is required, before you use governance actions. Proposals must be in good faith. Harassment, spam, vote manipulation, and impersonation are not allowed. Passing votes authorize staff to implement changes within the limits of the server and the platforms it runs on. Governance records may store a Minecraft username, a Discord user id, a vote, and a vote weight. Public pages show proposal text and totals. They do not show private account email addresses. Discord discussion is not the official record when the site publishes one.

Availability and changes

We aim for reliable service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned down time, when there is any, is listed in the public service notice on this site. Power, weather, and connectivity in Hawaiʻi can also interrupt service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services, except where law requires otherwise. If we materially change these Terms, we will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes is acceptance, unless law requires a different process.

Lifetime accounts. The commitments in Lifetime plan: ongoing access still apply: we will not end your Lifetime entitlement to Root Record-branded software and core Root Record online Services solely to sell you a replacement Root Record subscription for the same category of offering while we still provide that offering to other paying customers. A sunset or platform end-of-life that applies equally to all users may still happen, with reasonable notice where practicable.

Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be error-free or meet every use case.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Root Record and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of fifty U.S. dollars ($50) or the amounts you paid us for the Services in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Root Record against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access, or close accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or stay inactive for an extended period where we give notice when practical. You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your account where the product allows. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including warranty disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity — survive termination.

General

These Terms together with the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Root Record regarding the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Business and tax information

Paid plans may be subject to Hawaii General Excise Tax (GET) where applicable. When tax applies, the payment receipt from our payment provider usually shows the seller name, the tax charged, and any tax identifiers required on the receipt.

For your records, the seller of Root Record paid services is:
